For the 6th American series, the show has been promoted as REengineered, REdesigned and REborn. Nothing from the previous series has been REcycled. Two new hosts, a bigger junkyard and new build areas. Also gone is the  elimination tournament format and the experts. Now, the two teams (red and blue) will be permanently captained by Bowser and Crash, former Scrapheap Challenge captains. Also, the teams are selected by the captains before the challenge. Each captain picks 3 teammates from a pool of 6 to help with the build. The changes keep on comin...this series will also feature only one judge...former judge and show staffer/consultant Greg Bryant. The only thing that hasn't changed is the task...10 hours to build a machine.
