Ice Drag Racer

The Demolition Dudes are taking on the Raging Racers in a race that will send a chill up your spine. Each team will have to build a bike that will move them along a 50 foot long track on solid ice. It's a 4 leg relay race as one team member will travel up the ice, hand off to a team mate...repeat that two more time until all 4 team members have changed places. First team to finish advances to Round Three. If neither team can complete all four legs, then the team that has travelled the farthest total distance wins. There are two catches though. Firstly, no engines. Second, the machines can only have one wheel touching the ice surface.

The Raging Racers (red team) are going to use a whole bicycle frame with the rear wheel covered with chain and spike plates for traction. They will have two ice skates in the front for steering and two half-skis on the sides for stability. Oh, if you're wondering why you haven't seen this team before...you're right. They were winners from the first round in an episode that didn't air. In THIS PICTURE they are (clockwise from top left) Captain Ian, Marc, Dave and Nick.

The Demolition Dudes (blue team) will use half of a bicycle frame and hand build the front half complete with steering wheel. For traction, they're going to wrap a piece of steel around the wheel and attach it with bolts. The bolts (plus spike pads) should provide pretty good traction.

Blue has also found 2 clocks and they
get 10 minutes as well
