Baseball Pitcher

The teams will be building baseball pitching machines that will have to be accurate. They will have 15 minutes to launch 12 balls from a pitcher's mound into a strike zone 30 feet away. The team with the highest score after 12 pitches wins. However, not only does the ball have to go in the strike zone, they also have to get them past the opposing team. Each teammember of the opposite team will be at the plate for 3 pitches, trying to hit the ball and keep it from entering the strike zone.

The red team is going to use a small engine that will spin a tire mounted horizontally beside an unpowered tire. The ball will roll down a ramp and be flung out the front of the wheels towards the strike zone. They will add a 'table' with two adjustable legs (one in front and one in back) to help improve their aim.

The blue team is also using a small engine and a tire to shoot their ball forward. However, the difference is that they will only have one tire that will spin vertically just above a small ramp. The ball will roll down the ramp and be shot out the front. To help with accuracy, they'll attach a small tripod to the bottom of the ramp to adjust the direction it shoots the ball.
