Mud Scooter

This is the first semi-final of Round Three where the Scrapheap Henchmen (Water Bike) take on the Jurassic Junkers (Catapult, GoKart). The teams must build a scooter capable of traveling off-road. An oval shaped course has a couple of mud patches, pavement and rough terrain. Each team member will take one lap and the team that gets all four team members across the finish line first, or the team that travels the farthest in 10 minutes, advances to the final round of competition. This is also the first race that features motorized machines.

Both teams are given the same junk (engines included) so any differences in their designs will probably be minimal. Each team's scooter will have to have a frame, steering wheel and tires capable of driving through the different kinds of terrain. Most importantly, they will have to make sure that the connections between the battery and the motor are secure. If not, then it could be disastrous come race day.
